Prognosis
- Mild adrenal insufficiency typically responds within weeks with major improvements seen within 2 months.
- Moderate to severe cases may take 6 months to a year to reach 80%-100% improvement, and improvements may be punctuated by symptom recurrences. Patients with longstanding and severe symptoms may not progress beyond 80% recovery.
- If no improvements are seen in 2 months, be sure that all issues have been addressed, including chronic stress, physical exercise, restorative sleep, elimination of food sensitivities, lingering or undiagnosed infections, accumulated body toxins, such as heavy metals, repeated and ongoing workplace or home environmental exposures, and intestinal dysbiosis.
