W. Shaw PhD
William Shaw, PhD was the former director of Endocrinology and Toxicology at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, MO. He has developed a new metabolic profile test for the diagnosis of autism using newly discovered compounds in the urine of autistic children. He currently is the Director of The Great Plains Laboratory for Health, Nutrition, and Metabolism, a laboratory specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic disorders such as autism, PDD, hyperactivity, inborn errors of metabolism, depression, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. Dr. Shaw has presented information about his research throughout the world. The last ten years of Dr. Shaw’s research have been devoted to research on the metabolic, infectious, nutritional, and immunological causes of autism.
